I’m thinking about the coast today. Well, actually, everyday I’m thinking about the coast. My mind (and body) is at rest in Tahiti. I’m attempting to surf in Hawaii. There’s me and loved ones with a glass of wine watching the smooth ripple of the Dalmatian Coast.
I live in New York City, which boasts more miles of waterfront than Seattle or San Francisco. I cross a bridge to come to work. I hear boats in the harbor from my bedroom. My run takes me along the rocky shore of the East River. But somehow, I feel landlocked.
To scratch that itch I found this today. National Geographic’s list of the 11 most beautiful coastlines in the world. Please add to that list Central California and the Budva cornice in Montenegro, which Lord Byron called “the most beautiful meeting of land and water” in the world. Anything else to add to my list?
